Cartoon series Angry Birds Blues, based on the hit Angry Birds game franchise, is to start airing March 10 through Toons TV, according to its trailer.
Debuting in 2009 as a mobile phone game before spreading out to a multitude of other platforms and merchandising opportunities, Angry Birds spawned the Angry Birds Movie in 2016.
But Angry Birds Blues can trace its lineage back to 2014 animated series Angry Birds Toons, which has reached its third season, and Angry Birds Blues is the show's third spin-off after Piggy Tales and Angry Birds Stella, this time zooming in on the lives of three mischievous blue birds.
Toons.TV, also owned by Angry Birds studio Rovio, was set up in 2013 and carries animated series from other studios as well as its own original and mostly Angry Birds-derived content. — AFP Relaxnews
