Fight ransomware: The No More Ransom project aims to help users who have their files locked by malware to unlock their files.

One of the most malicious forms of malware that can infect a computer is ransomware where the attacker covertly encrypts the victim’s personal files.

The attacker will then demand a ransom in return for the key to decrypt and recover the files.

To cripple ransomware, companies like Intel Security, Interpol and Kaspersky Labs have teamed up to create a web portal called No More Ransom.

This site not only gives you safety tips to avoid infecting your devices but will also help unlock the files that have been encrypted by ransomware.

The site claims to have collected over 160,000 decryption keys which it can use to try to unlock your files.

You will have to upload your affected files to the website for it to check if it has the key.

The companies are hoping that the site will not only save your data, but also cut off the income for the ransomware creator and thus discourage the creation of more.
