More than just a phone: The 5C comes with a dedicated motion tracking processor to track your daily activities without greatly affecting battery life.
Honor Malaysia has released an affordable Android that doesn’t skimp on performance or features.
The Honor 5C is powered by the Kirin 650 processor which was built using the 16nm manufacturing process to offer better performance and reduced power consumption, said Honor Malaysia e-commerce director Allen An.
“The Kirin 650 is the first processor to bring 16nm technology to the affordable range of smartphones. Almost 70% of the smartphones on the market today are still using 20nm to 28nm processors,” he says.
The smartphone also sports a dedicated i5 co-processor for tracking motion without greatly impacting battery life.
The Honor 5C is one of the few budget smartphones to feature a fingerprint sensor. Located on the back and below the camera lens, the sensor is capable of unlocking the phone in just 0.5 seconds.
The company claims that the sensor offers better encryption and security, and is even capable of self-learning. In other words, the more you use it, the more accurate it will become.
The phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Both sensors have a wide f/2.0 aperture for capturing better photos in low-light conditions.
Other features include a 5.2in full-HD display, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable via with microSD) and 3,000mAh battery.
It’s also one of the first Honor devices to feature the company’s new EMUI 4.1 user interface.
The Honor 5C which has a full metal body comes in three colours – Silver, Grey and Gold. The Silver and Grey will retail for RM799 while the Gold for RM849.
The smartphone will be available for pre-order on June 20.
