Coming soon: The Last Guardian has a final release date and it's this year.

It seems like forever (it's actually been nine long years) since Fumito Ueda and Team Ico started working on The Last Guardian, a game originally conceived for the PlayStation 3 but languished in development hell for so long that it had to be rejigged to work for the PlayStation 4.

Some of us have been waiting so long for Team Ico's third game that we've started to believe that it had been quietly cancelled, but here it is, a date, set in stone -- Oct 25 of this year has just been announced to be the official release date of the game.
