Diverse offerings: Khoo said Lenovo's entire lineup of products for 2016 cover the entire consumer, commercial and enterprise segments.

Lenovo is aiming to Empower, Engage and provide the best Experience to users with the launch of its latest product lineup spanning across the consumer, commercial and enterprise segments.

A total of 27 new products were launched today, including the X1 and Ideapad family of devices, which replace last year’s range.

The highlight of the launch was the ThinkPad X1 family of enterprise devices which come with many customisable options.

Top of the list is the ThinkPad X1 Yoga business laptop. The 2-in-1 laptop can be customised to include the Intel Core i7 vPro processor, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 512GB SSD storage.

There’s three options for display, including a 14in wide QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) OLED touchscreen which is bundled with a stylus.

The price of the X1 Yoga starts from RM9,799 (inclusive of GST) depending on the configuration.

It also unveiled the ThinkPad X1 Carbon – as the name implies, it’s reinforced with carbon fibre, giving it a sturdier and ultralight body at only 1.2kg.

The X1 Carbon can be configured to include an Intel Core i7 vPro processor, up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage.

It is only available in one size – 14in – but customers can choose between two display options – full HD and wide QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels).

The price starts from RM7,000 (inclusive of GST).

Next up is the 2-in-1 ThinkPad X1 Tablet. Similar to the other products in the family, the X1 Tablet is highly customisable but that’s not all – it’s also modular in design.

It allows users to attach optional modules to the tablet to meet different needs.

The productivity module offers an additional five hours battery life, as well as HDMI, USB 3.0 and OneLink+ ports.

The Presenter Module comes with a built in projector which is able to project a 60in image from 2m. It also comes with a HDMI port.

The most interesting option is 3D Imaging which features a rear Intel RealSense Camera. The camera captures images in 3D which makes it ideal for those who are into 3D printing or designing.

“Here at Lenovo, we understand that our customers’ needs are always changing,” said Lenovo Malaysia country general manager Khoo Hung Chuan.

“We want to offer all the choices they need to make it easier to work, play and live as they wish.”

The tablet has a 12in full-HD display, Core m7 vPro processor, up to 16GB RAM and up to 512GB SSD storage.

The price for the X1 Tablet starts from RM6,699.

All the three devices come with fingerprint reader.

The weakening ringgit has caused many products to go up in price but Khoo believes that Lenovo’s offerings remain competitive.

And to combat the global decline in PC sales, it designs products based on consumer needs and offers features (such as the modular design and pocket projector) that are unique, says Lenovo Malaysia consumer lead Loh Wai Mun.

“We look at what benefits the consumer and offer our products at very competitive price points,” said Loh.
