JAKARTA: A new chat group on the instant messaging phone application WhatsApp is helping Indonesia's central bank improve its reputation for managing market expectations, something it has struggled with in the past.
Since the middle of 2015, Bank Indonesia (BI) has been running WhatsApp chatrooms with groups of local economists, using the forum to discuss and debate its policy settings and market movements.
