Loving the phone: All generations are guilty of letting technology distract them at the dinner table.

Trying to convince the friends, family and assorted guests to put down their phones and come to the table for a meal this holiday season could prove more difficult than you think.

According to Nielsen, Millennials are unfairly singled out for appearing to be in a constant state of digital distraction. While 40% of 21 to 34-year-olds and 38% of 15-to-20-year-olds (who Nielsen dubs Generation Z) admit that their mealtimes are less than technology-free, it could well be that they're following their parents' lead.
