Jump into a shiny dystopian cityscape where information is tightly controlled and daring urban runner Faith Connors holds the key to freedom.
Back for a second helping after 2008 cult hit Mirror's Edge, Faith is given the origin story treatment in May PC and console game Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
Certain themes and aesthetics carry over from the original: breathtaking jumps, rooftop escapes, creative use of drainpipes, and an us-against-them conspiracy to find the chink in the armor of a totalitarian city-state.
Advances in software and hardware make for a pumped up visual style, if a new trailer is anything to go by, while Faith and her mates have been given the sort of makeover not out of place on a meticulously styled emo rock band.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is set for a May 24 release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
A beta testing programme for all three platforms has been proposed by publisher Electronic Arts, which has a signup page available at mirrorsedge.com/beta.
