Doom's day: A fourth Doom game in 23 years is set for a May 23 release.
The fourth core game in Id Software's seminal shooter franchise is on its way, with a May 13 release across PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One now set.
The first-person shooter returns to series principles of guns, gore, hellish monsters and speed of movement, with 2016's Doom arriving a decade after Doom 3 and over 20 years after the first Doom in 1993.
A collector's edition was also announced, which includes a 12in statue, as well as a pack of cosmetic upgrades and single-use power ups for the game's multiplayer mode, doubling the Doom recommended retail price to US$119 (RM495).
