KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Azhar Sulaiman is the latest victim of cyber bullying, after he had expressed support for Barisan Nasional.
His Facebook account, which has 11,000 followers, was hacked when he downloaded two videos last week from Facebook and YouTube, in which he supported Barisan but offended supporters of other parties.
Following the threats and insults levelled at him on his Facebook site, he lodged a police report to protect himself, he told a press conference here Tuesday.
"I have never called for a press conference in all the years I've been an artiste but this time, I am doing so because I feel my freedom of speech is being curtailed.
"Orchestrated bullying must be stopped. Maybe I have been too vocal but it is not my intention to seek cheap publicity," said Azhar whose Facebook account was suspended on Sunday after it was hacked.
He lodged the report at the Taman Tun Dr Ismail police station at 3pm.
Prior to this, actress Michelle Yeoh was also criticised for expressing support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Singer Eric Moo was also condemned for performing at a concert believed to be organised by Barisan. - Bernama
