IT IS the end of the month, and we are seeing a stream of clubbing activity on the scene with a host of international acts mixing it up with the local talent. Lots for everyone to enjoy.

DNB XTRA, Kuala Lumpur’s long-standing night of heavyweight international drum’n’bass music continues its 2013 offerings by bringing in, for the first time, drum’n’bass legend and pioneer Andy C from the UK.
Alongside the likes Shy FX, Krust, DJ Hype, DJ SS, Fabio, Grooverider, Goldie, LTJ Bukem and others, he is undoubtedly among the most important figures in the evolution of drum’n’bass and one of the scene’s founders and most important figures.
Brought to you by Poppy Garden & Loops Collective, this night will be supported by some of the cream of the local drum’n’bass scene, including DJ Low & Nesh MC, Duster (RU) and Emisz (GER).

Future Sound Asia presents Markus Schulz (US). Over the last 10 years, Schulz has fused progressive house and trance into his own creative, now inimitable, hybrid sound.
Through a unique alignment of headlining DJ sets, Armada and Coldharbour label output and his highly prominent Global DJ Broadcast (GDJB) radio show, he’s spearheaded a sea change in the US trance scene.
Following several highly-ranked positions, in 2008 Schulz broke into the Top 10 of DJ Mag’s Top 100 chart. He has remained there for the last four years and now stands as the busiest international DJ playing out of the US.
Recently, Schulz collaborated with trance heavyweight Armin Van Buuren to release the anthem for this year’s ASOT#600: The Expedition. Poppy presents James Zabiela (UK) featuring Victor G and Miss SS.
A technical wizard and with a love of all things sci-fi, Zabiela is at the forefront of new DJ/production talent smashing the glass ceiling of the global superstars.
He’s played to a room full of suited Japanese businessmen when showcasing Pioneer’s latest equipment, in front of 60,000 people in South America and just about every imaginable situation in-between.
From winning a bedroom DJ competition to Sasha personally signing Zabiela to his UK DJ agency Excession, things have skyrocketed.

Formed in 1998 near Moscow, Swanky Tunes have always experimented with different electronic styles in pursuit of their own sound.
Thanks to their solid musical culture and their outstanding studio skills, the Russian trio quickly managed to become one of the most sought-after EDM bands.

Soundsgood presents Further with Alex Niggeman (GER).
A brand new club night makes its debut with Further by Soundsgood Productions featuring Berlin house stalwart Alex Niggemann, also making his debut in the city.
Further is aimed at discerning dance music fans who are looking to delve further into the realms of electronic dance music.
Berlin-based Niggeman has been carving a name for himself as a sophisticated purveyor of house in its myriad guises, delivering singles, remixes and an artiste album that span the gamut.
The critically well-received Paranoid Funk, released in 2012, further cemented his place as a producer of note. Admission: TBC.

OMP Entertainment presents DJ Chus (SP).
When hard work and talent go hand in hand the outcome can only be quality. DJ Chus — producer, remixer and founder of Stereo Productions — is the co-creator of the pioneering Iberican Sound, a delicious mix of hypnotic organic house, warm and intense with a strong tribal essence which fuses naturally with modern tech house.
His many awards from the Spanish Deejay magazine include DJ of the Year, Best House DJ, Best House Producer, Best House Label and Best Remix of the Year.
He is also one of the first Spanish DJs to make the top 100 DJ Mag list.
His extraordinary studio work has culminated in a recording legacy of over 25 years in the form of original productions or remixes either solo or with David Penn, Pablo Ceballos and many other partners in crime.

Laundry presents a one night only special with Berlin-based indie electronic band Seabourne (GER).
Seabourne is the brainchild of established songwriter and cryptic chanteuse, Larissa Rate, who began experimenting with producing her own music with one objective — no rules.
With an esoteric and ethereal blend of vocals and bold beats, Seabourne sails on the new wave of intricate outer-limits pop.

Quinte presents Toby Holguin (COL). Toby Holguin grew up in Cali, Colombia, surrounded by a great musical culture. At the age of 15, Toby started to play in rock bands, and found his calling. Toby is the owner of Basswalk Records, a label under which he has released innumerable tracks that have gained strong international status. Using numerous monikers Dopey Cap, Bong Hitz, Big Bud, New Born Child, Ashbury and Haight, Aereoplano, Raya & Manku, and Toby Holguin, he has reinvented himself for his ongoing music cycles. Hoot presents Audiofly (UK/SP). It was a chance meeting that led to Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito, an audio engineer/musician and working DJ, respectively, becoming Audiofly back in 2002.
