KLANG: Naza Group of Companies have come on board as the main sponsor for the Sultan of Selangor's Cup football competition at the Shah Alam Stadium on Sept 29.
Its joint executive chairman and chief executive officer SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin said the group was honoured to be part of the prestigious event.
“We will also be initiating other activities on match day at the Shah Alam Stadium,'' said SM Nasarudin after handing over a sponsorship of RM300,000 to Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah yesterday.
Other sponsors for the event are Syabas Berhad (RM200,000); B&G Capital Resourses Berhad and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (RM100,00 each) while SP Setia Berhad, Splash Sdn Bhd, Taliworks Corporation Berhad, Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd and Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal are contributing RM50,000 each.
Organising chairman Datuk Abdul Karim Munisar thanked the sponsors for their support.
“The competition has a strong following among football fans in Malaysia.
“The organising committee are working hard toward making this year's event a memorable one for the football fans,'' said Abdul Karim.
The event was initiated in 2001 by Sultan Sharafuddin to foster better relations between Selangor and Singapore.
Last year, the match, played at the Shah Alam Stadium, attracted a crowd of 60,000. Several local artistes provided the entertainment before kick-off.
Tickets for the event, priced at RM10 each, are available at Uncle K outlets in Paradigm Mall Kelana, SACC Mall Shah Alam and Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Quality Hotel Shah Alam and City Centre, Concorde Hotel Shah Alam as well as City Centre and Hard Rock Cafe in Kuala Lumpur.
