SEGi College Penang has expanded its operations to Seberang Prai by opening a recruitment centre in Bukit Mertajam.
Besides being a venue for the college to hold interviews for new intakes, the centre also has a resource room with computers where its students from the mainland can access the Internet and conduct research.
College principal Cheah Teong Keat, who opened the centre recently, said a big number of the college students come from the mainland.
At the event, the college handed over RM500 each to SMK Krian, SMJK Chio Min, SMK Bagan Jaya, SMK Jalan Damai, SMJK Jit Sin, SMK Berapit, SMK Convent Bukit Mertajam, SMK Convent Butter-worth, SMJK Chung Ling Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam High School for their programmes to help needy students.
The centre is on the top floor of a two-storey shoplot in Jalan Song Ban Kheng.
The college campus is in Wisma Green Hall on Penang island.
