I CAN identify and empathise with “Have common tint standard” (The Star, April 24).
I sold a car to a relative and another to a close friend in the last few months.
Both the cars had tinting that costs some RM3,000 per car, and both cars failed the Puspakom tint film test. The first car was inspected by Puspakom in Penang and the other in Kuala Lumpur.
In both cases, I had to pay to re-tint the cars for I had promised to deliver a car with good tinting. I am perplexed as to the reason for the JPJ-compliant tinting failing the Puspakom inspection.
This causes great financial hardship in a difficult economic climate.
Now I dare not transfer ownership of yet another car to my child because that would cause me further financial loss.
