KUANTAN: The recent Wesley Kids Christmas party held at the Methodist Church hall saw some 60 children participating in a fun-filled afternoon.
Joining them were five special children from the Kiwanis Centre Kuantan accompanied by their parents.
The event started with the singing of motion songs led by children of the Wesley Kids worship team, followed by the rendition of Christmas carols such as Away In A Manger, Silent Night and Jingle Bells.
Everyone present started shaking hands and extending Christmas wishes to the tune of “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”
Later, an animated video on the nativity story of the birth of baby Jesus was screened before the children took part in several games.
The most challenging was pinning the red nose on a picture of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer while being blindfolded and without bursting the surrounding balloons.
Event co-ordinator Ben Cheah said the programme was an annual affair organised in conjunction with the Yuletide season and year-end school holidays.
“This is the last programme for the Wesley Kids Ministry for this year.
“It took us several weeks to plan the event and decorate the church hall with Christmas ornaments, a crib and a Christmas tree,” he said.
The event drew to a close with the presentation of awards to several Wesley kids for recording the best attendance throughout the year.
Each of the children was also given a Christmas gift and treated to a high tea.
All participants posed for a group photo before returning home.
Cheah said next year’s programme for the Wesley Kids would commence on Jan 13 with many exciting and fun activities in the pipeline.
