IT was an evening filled with celebration for corporate clients and guests of Prince Hotel and Residence Kuala Lumpur as they witnessed the lighting ceremony of the hotel’s Christmas tree.
Located at the lobby, the 20ft tree was exquisitely decorated with beautiful baubles and colourful ornaments.
Prior to the lighting ceremony, guests were treated to a cocktail party at the Mezzanine Bar and Lounge, while being entertained by the in-house band.
A group of carollers from La Voce choir and children of Agathians Shelter enhanced the Christmas mood with festive tunes, much to the guests’ delight.
Just as the tree was officially lighted, 40 balloons were dropped as guests cheered and admired the glittering lights.
“Each Christmas, a group of residents get together with friends and sponsor gifts for underprivileged children,” said its marketing communications director Elisa Saw.
She added that the programme themed “Christmas in a Shoebox” was started in 2006.
Saw said this year, the hotel embarked on a new community initiative with the sale of Christ-mas wishing cards at RM20.
Upon purchasing the cards, guests can write personal messages and hang them on the tree.
The wishing cards are available from now and the hotel hopes to sell at least 500 cards. The proceeds will go to Agathians Shelter.
Guests could also take photos in front of the tree.
The most creative shots and messages will be posted on the hotel’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PrinceHotel-KL and Twitter at @PrinceHotelKL with the hashtag #PrinceXmas.
The hotel will be rewarding three most creative photos with dining vouchers before Christmas.
The chefs at the hotel’s Eccucino restaurant had incorporated delectable Christmas dishes at the buffet counter to fete guests.
Diners had an early taste of Christmas as they indulged in the season’s favourite items such as Roast Turkey with Giblet Gravy, Pumpkin Bisque Soup with Cinnamon Essence, Dresdner Stollen, Yule Log and Christmas pudding.
