COME this year-end school holidays, have a splashing fun at Water World @ i-City.
I-Berhad, which manages SnoWalk and all the other rides and attractions in i-City, will be managing the Water World @ i-City.
It is targeted to start operations in November in view of the year-end holidays, and there will be special package deals offered during the opening period.
It will have the first Tornado ride attraction in South-East Asia.
This one-of-a-kind experience begins with a dark tunnel and a full 45˚ drop, accelerating tubes into the immense funnel at a pulse-pounding 20mph and propelling riders high up the opposite side of the Tornado for a momentary zero-gravity experience.
After a series of exciting oscillations through the funnel, riders descend through the darkened outrun tunnel into the landing pool below.
It was first introduced in Canada and since then there have been many installations around the world.
The cost of construction for WaterWorld@i-City was RM25mil and i-City expects a payback time of two to three years.
The construction and ground work for the Water World started early this year, whereas the structure for the Tornado ride would take about two months to complete.
With the latest advancements in technology, the water filtration systems installed in WaterWorld is designed to constantly recycle and refresh the water rather than using fresh water for every ride.
Visitors can come in the afternoon and then stay the night to enjoy the lightscape.
i-City currently has 90,000 visitors weekly. With Water World, a 30% increase in the number of visitors is expected.
