KUALA TERENGGANU: The operator of Kampung Teluk Ketapang Homestay in Seberang Takir near here plans to add another 35 homes to boost accommodation, making it a total of 66 houses in the village.
“The additional houses were awaiting licences from the tourism ministry to begin operations,” said homestay chairman Mohd Azmi Abdul Aziz.
He said the additional houses were necessary as the homestay had received good response from tourists to become one of the best homestays in the state.
Mohd Azmi said this after receiving an 18-member delegation from the Brunei education ministry which was on a visit here.
Halim Abdullah, who led the delegation, said its aim was to gather experience in education and homestays such as the Teluk Ketapang Homestay.
Mohd Azmi said, since the homestay was set up in 2007, tourists from about 30 countries had visited and stayed at the village. – Bernama.
