THE first ever all Sarawakian bumiputra developer company to be granted the Contractor Service Centre (Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor Malaysia) Class A licence, Eastbourne Corporation Berhad, is 20 years old.
Since its establishment in 1991, Eastbourne Corporation Sdn Bhd has been involved in various projects.
Some of the well known ones are Kuching Waterfront; Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters in Bako, Kuching; Tanjung Manis reclamation project in Mukah; Bintulu General Hospital; and the Police Training Centre in Penrissen.
“We are proud of these achievements which we owe to our loyal staff as well as cooperation from consultants, sub-contractors, suppliers and the state government,” said its managing director Gani Matahir during an anniversary dinner at a resort in Damai last Monday.
“Eastbourne Corporation Berhad was granted the PKK Class A licence in 1993, ISO9001-2000 in 2003 and now the ISO-9001-2008,” he said.
Up till now, the company had completed projects worth a total of RM1.12bil, Gani said.
“Currently we are working on various projects costing about RM291mil. Among them are the Miri sewer project, roads in Mukah, and infrastructure developments in Bintulu and Tebedu,” he said.
