PETALING JAYA: Local budget airline Firefly has emerged tops by winning the Best Value Airline of the Year award at the Frost and Sullivan Asia Pacific Aerospace and Defence Awards 2010 in Singapore.
Firefly managing director Datuk Eddy Leong, who received the award on Thursday, said it was a great achievement for a young airline to reach such a milestone.
“With the proliferation of so many players in the regional aviation scene, we are pleased to be recognised for our growth acceleration at an early age.
“We believe this achievement is mainly due to the fact that we bring the fun back into flying,” he added.
Malaysia Airports clinched two awards at the event — Airport Investment Company of the Year and Airport of the Year (above 15 million Passengers Annually) for the KL International Airport.
Composites Technology Research Malaysia, meanwhile, bagged the Aerospace Research and Development Vendor of the Year award.
