SHAH ALAM: A Selangor Road Transport Department officer pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here Wednesday to using his position as the North Port Verification Station Master to register a luxury car to his brother’s name.
Mohd Yusoff Ahmad, 42, is charged with using his position to order a vehicle inspector, Mohd Khadri Khalim, to confirm the index number of a Mercedes Benz C200 car without going through the necessary procedure for imported vehicles.
Following which, the car was registered to his brother, Abdul Ghani Ahmad, with registration number JKT 615 at the RTD branch office in Muar, Johor, on Jan 22, 2008.
Mohd Yusoff is alleged to have committed the offence at the North Port Verification Station, Selangor RTD, Klang on Nov 7, 2007.
Judge Mat Ghani Abdullah allowed Mohd Yusoff to be released on a bail of RM5,000 in one surety and set March 15 for mention. -- Bernama
