FROM Jan 14 to 16 next year Istana Budaya’s stage will come alive with performances by some of the best in ballet in a showcase of Don Quixote and the Inter-national Ballet Gala.
The showcase will feature Australian ballet principal artist Robert Curran and Ena Ballet Studio company co-artistic director Ena Hirose, as well as some of Malaysia’s top ballerinas and dancers.
The event, organised by Danceworks Production, is aimed at raising funds for 10 beneficiaries.
Some of the charitable organisations to benefit from the event are Lions Lyfeline Leukaemia Fund (LLF), Yayasan Sin Chew, Hospis, Living Hope Malaysia, SPCA, Kiwanis Down Syndrome, National Kidney Foundation, Persatuan Diabetes Malaysia, and Montfort Boys Town.
LLF chairman Datin Kay Hashim said they were happy to be chosen as one of the beneficiaries.
“I think that it is a wonderful move by Danceworks Production and Ena Ballet Studio Company.”
Don Quixote is scheduled to run from Jan 14 to 16 while the International Ballet Gala is scheduled on Jan 15. Both shows will be held at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Tickets prices are RM220, RM180, RM140, RM100 and RM50.
Tickets bought before Dec 1, 2010, will benefit from the early bird price at RM198, RM162, RM126, RM90 and RM45 respectively.
