JOHOR BARU: SAJ Holdings Sdn Bhd has announced the streamlining of the water tariff statewide effective Nov 1.
The company’s chief executive office Abdul Wahab Abdul Hamid said the new tariff would not burden consumers as the increase will only be an average of RM1.85 per month.
“The revised tariff will encourage consumers to save water and curb wastage,’’ he said.
“The streamlining will cover the increase in operating costs and to build new assets to help the company provide better service and water quality to the people,” he said.
“Those who use 25,000 litres of water per month will experience a minimal increase of RM1.45 only.
“SAJ will give rebates of as much as 20,000 litres per month,” he said, adding that lower income families were identified through agencies like the Welfare Department.
He said the decision to streamline the tariff was made after discussing the matter at a forum organised by the National Water Service Commission (SPAN) and authorised by the state government and Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry.or information, call 1-800-88-7474, SMS 019-772 7474 or e-mail:firstname.lastname@example.org.
