BANDAR Tasik Puteri (BTP) residents are eagerly waiting for the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway project to be completed so that they will have easy access to their township.
Now, the residents use Jalan Rawang-Batu Arang or through Kuang to go to Kuala Lumpur.
These roads are congested in the mornings and the evenings and also prone to floods.
Since the residents moved to Bandar Tasik Puteri 10 years ago, they were promised easy access and now there are more than 40,000 residents in this growing township.
Selayang municipal councillor Ahmad Zaidy Abdul Talib said the residents wanted to know when the expressway would be ready.
“AP Land Berhad director Lee Kok Wah will meet the residents on Oct 24 to give an estimated date of completion to residents.
“We hope all the authorities would come and meet the residents,’’ he said.
Zaidy said when residents bought their houses in the township it was stated in the brochure that the travelling time from the housing estate to Kuala Lumpur was only 20 minutes.
“However, it did not happen and residents have to use Jalan Rawang-Batu Rawang to go to the Rawang toll.
“We understand that residents from Bandar Country Homes, Taman Velox, Kota Puteri and nearby areas would be able to use this expressway,” he said.
Lee said three phases had to be ready before the expressway could be completed.
“I can confirm that Phase One will be completed by June 2011. We have done 10 changes to the expressway.
“The completion date for the expressway will be explained to the residents on Oct 24,’’ said Lee during a meeting with residents at his office recently.
