KUALA PILAH: Tunku Ali Redhauddin, the eldest son of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, was conferred the title Tunku Besar Seri Menanti in a ceremony steeped in tradition at the Balairong Seri in the Istana Besar Seri Menanti yesterday.
This is only the third time in 120 years that the Tunku Besar Seri Menanti has been appointed.
The title of Tunku Besar Seri Menanti is the most senior of the Putera Yang Empat (Four Princes).
The other three are the Tunku Laxamana, Tunku Muda Serting and Tunku Panglima Besar, held respectively by Tunku Naquiyuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar, Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar and Tunku Nadzaruddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar. — Bernama
