PARIS: Top French side Paris St Germain on Friday said they would appeal a Professional Football League (LFP) ruling banning the club from defending their League Cup title, according to the club’s website.
In April the LFP handed down the decision after PSG fans displayed a controversial banner during their League Cup final victory over Lens.
During the match – attended by President Nicolas Sarkozy – Parisian fans were forced to remove the 25m banner which said that people in the northeast of the country were all “paedophiles, unemployed, inbreds”. – AFP
