KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be giving his statement to the police on Wednesday at 2pm, says his lawyer Sankara Nair.
Anwar failed to turn up for his scheduled Monday appointment to give his statement on the sodomy allegation against him.
On Saturday, Sankara said the PKR de facto leader would be meeting the police on Monday at 2pm.
Anwar, through Sankara, said on Monday that he was boycotting the meeting in protest against a move by the police to serve him a notice at his house although he had earlier agreed to meet them.
Following the no-show, police said they were considering several options to get Anwar to give his statement.
Meanwhile, at a press conference Tuesday, CID director Commissioner Datuk Mohd Bakri Zinin said Anwar had until 2pm Wednesday to present himself at the police headquarters here to give his statement.
Failing to do so, the police is ready to explore all options, including arrest.
