PETALING JAYA: More videos, allegedly of Datuk V.K. Lingam talking about the judiciary, are likely to surface, Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
Anwar, speaking to reporters at a press conference in his office here, said from the outset, he had the feeling that more videos would come out.
And true enough, a third part has come, he said while defending its release after Royal Commission chairman Tan Sri Haidar Mohd Noor questioned why Anwar had not released it earlier.
I only received the video on Friday evening. I did not have it prior to that, he said.
He added that the reason he released one video after another in the initial stage was so it would be harder for them to ignore the case.
Anwar, however, pointed out that the commission should be calling for the entire video to be adduced rather than investigating only what they had.
I also hope the commission allows me to appear as a witness as my name was mentioned in the video twice. I remember what the others have forgotten, he said.
He added that he was disappointed the commission focused solely on the fixing of judges and did not allow evidence that court decisions had also been fixed.
On Monday, Anwar released the third video clip that sees Lingam talking about having dinner with and buying an expensive gift for a former Chief Justice.
The five-minute segment appeared to be a continuation of the 14-minute segment the commission is looking into now.
