KUALA TERENGGANU: Shutter-bugs from all over the country can gather here to capture the best shoots of Terengganus landscape or its people and stand the chance of winning lucrative cash prizes.
A photography competition with the theme The Faces of Terengganu jointly organised by State Government and Tereng-ganu Press Club (Kawat) was launched at a hotel here on Saturday.
The competition was launched by State Infrastructure Develop-ment, Public Amenity and Communication committee chairman Datuk Wan Hisham Wan Salleh.
Wan Hisham in his speech praised the club for organising such an event to promote the state.
We in the state government acknowledge the role of the local mass media who have worked closely with us to develop the state,
Without the press our effort to see the immense progress in Terengganu would not be ach-ieved, he said.
Wan Hisham said he was glad that the competition was organised as it would help supplement the picture bank of Terengganu.
Picture tells a thousand words and the state could be beautifully portrayed through a good images captured by lensmen, he said.
Kawats president Ayob when met later said the competition hopes to attract almost 1,000 pixmen form all over the country.
