NEW DELHI: Malaysia played well but lost 1-2 to India on the opening day of the Indira Gandhi International Gold Cup women’s hockey tournament.
All the goals came in the first half. Saba Anjum scored both the goals for India, with the first as early as the sixth minute.
Malaysia equalised in the 22nd minute through a penalty corner converted by Nurfaraha Hashim.
Saba gave India the winner by converting a penalty corner in the 24th minute. – Bernama
