Syabas steps in to check water pressure issues

SYARIKAT Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) would like to address a complaint on low water pressure since last year by Edward of Section 3, Taman Kajang Utama, in a letter to The Star on April 30.

Based on our records, we have found recurring water supply disruptions this year due to technical failures at both the Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Langat Water Treatment Plants, which supply water to the said area.

The treatment plants are operated by Konsortium ABASS and Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd, respectively. However, Syabas had taken fast action by supplying relief water to the affected areas during the disruptions.

Syabas had also carried out a site visit to the complainant’s premises on May 2. Based on the inspection, the water pressure before his meter was sufficient for his area. In addition, the reduction of pressure was determined to be due to an internal problem, to which the complainant was advised to contact a licensed plumber to resolve his problem.

Nevertheless, Syabas wishes to advise the public to report to Syabas immediately by calling PUSPEL at its toll free number 1-800-88-5252 or SMS by typing PUSPEL < report, complaint or enquiry> and send to 39222, or email puspel@syabas.com.my for any information or problems regarding water supply.
