Wellness store opens first outlet in Bangsar

MELALUECA, the wellness company. opened its first store in Malaysia last week.

The store, located at Menara UOA, opposite the Bangsar LRT station was packed as locals came in to find out more about the company and its products.

Melaleuca offers a wide range of products, including environment- friendly household cleaners, pharmaceuticals, personal care items and in 1999, launched a cosmetics line with fashion designer Nicole Miller.

The company focuses on developing products that promote wellness through products that are safer for your home and by leading a healthy lifestyle.

While their products are environment-friendly and uses natural ingredients, they boast that their products perform as good or better than the conventional grocery store products, without the harmful chemicals.

We offer a catalogue full of products that promote health and well-being, help protect the environment, are cost-effective, use the best natural ingredients, and are formulated to be safer for your home and family.” said Melaleuca’s Regional vice-president Southeast Asia Tai Tolman.

Interested customers can also sign up as a Melaleuca Independent Marketing executives where upon registering, they are entitled to buy their products at a cheaper price, and also qualify to earn commissions.

Melaleuca is not a multi-level marketing company as they do not allow inventory loading, no break­aways and do not require any inventory maintaining, a common practice in MLM companies.

The official launch of Melaleuca will be held at the Mandrin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, today at 2pm and is open to the public.

The company was founded in 1985 by Frank L. VanderSloot when he took over the “Oil of Melaleuca” company and created a new marketing plan to support consumers.

The company then only offered a single product called “T36-C5 Melaleuca Oil” which was the formulated extract of the Melaleuca Alternafolia shrub-like tree or more commonly known as tea tree oil.

With over 23 years of growth, Melaleuca has been stated as one of the fastest growing companies in the United States by Inc Magazine and has more than 2,500 employees with sales offices in Canada, Japan, Australia, Taiwan and New Zeland.

In 2006 Melaleuca began sales in Singapore, Jamaica and the Netherlands.
