NTPM profit increases 11%

PETALING JAYA: NTPM Holdings Bhd's net profit increased 10.67% to RM10.21mil on the back of a 7.42% increase in revenue to RM114.86mil for the first quarter to July 31, 2012.

Earnings per share for the period improved slightly to 0.9 sen from 0.8 sen. Cash for the period stood at RM23.7mil.

The increase in profits for NTPM was mainly due to the increase in sales and favorable pulp and waste paper prices in its paper segment.

The surge in revenue for its personal care segment was mainly due to the surge in demand for the group's newly innovated baby diapers.
