Two robbers flee with five trays of jewellery

SEREMBAN: Two robbers armed with pistols took only five minutes to run away with five trays of jewellery from a shop at Jalan Dato Bandar Tunggal, here on Friday.

State Deputy CID Chief, Supt Lim Kim Fook said Saturday the robbery occurred at 5.10pm at a shop which also sold wristwatches.

The two men, who wore fullface helmets, rushed into the section of the shop with jewellery and ordered the employees to put the jewellery into the bag they had brought along, before fleeing on a motorcycle.

There were eight workers, including an unarmed security guard in the premises at the time of the incident, but no shot was fired, Supt Lim told reporters, here.

"We believe they were armed with two automatic pistols, but we are uncertain whether the pistols were genuine or fake," he said.

He added that the actual value of losses was still being investigated. - Bernama
