A chance to give

AID FOR ALL: Ipoh Timur MCA division chief Datuk Thong Fah Chong (second from right) and his deputy San Chak Chun (right) handing out a box of groceries from Yayasan Bina Upaya (YBU) to a Tebing Tinggi resident, last Saturday.

About 320 poor families in the constituency had gathered at the Tebing Tinggi field to receive the aid, which contained rice, oil, flour, salt and other daily necessities, aimed at reducing their burden.

The recipients, consisting of the hardcore poor, single mothers and the unemployed, were also treated to a simple breakfast of nasi lemak, egg tarts, curry puffs and coffee.

Set up by the state government to help eradicate poverty, the YBU hands out aid to needy families in various constituencies each month.
