Pupils of three Klang schools are beneficiaries

SELECTED primary school pupils from three schools will be the beneficiaries of the inaugural CK Charity Run at the Stadium Padang Sultan Sulaiman in Klang on June 10.

Pandamaran A, Pandamaran B and Tshing Nian are the Klang-based schools identified for the programme.

And the hosts have allocated a total of RM3,000 for 20 deserving children from each of the three schools.

Full backing: The partners for the upcoming run announcing the event in Klang.

In addition, they are hoping to raise another RM5,000 to be channelled to charity homes from their initiative.

Judging from the encouraging response thus far, race director S.P. Wong said they were hopeful of reaching the target of 2,000 entries to feature in the 5.5km and 12km events.

“So far, more than 1,000 participants have signed up,” he added.

The five categories for the 12km event are men’s open (17 years and above), men’s junior veteran (40 to 49 years), men’s senior veteran (50 years and above), women’s open (17 to 34 years) and women’s veteran (35 years and above).

For the shorter 5.5km course, the four sections are men’s open (17 years and above), women’s open (17 years and above), boys’ (10 to 16 years) and girls’ (10 to 16 years).

For each adult, entry fees for the 5.5km and 12km are RM30 and RM40 respectively. Each boys’ and girls’ entry costs RM25.

Entry closes either on April 30 or when they have reached the maximum entries. Besides prizes for the lucky draws, participants will also be rewarded in the fun-filled games.
