FBM KLCI sees red at closing

KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI dipped 2.85 points or 0.18%, closing at 1,588.06 at 5pm today.

At Bursa Malaysia, the total volume of shares traded was 1.497 billion with a turnover of RM1.334 billion. Losers outpaced gainers by 519 versus 260 while 307 remained unchanged.

Amongst the top ten gainers were Supercomnet Technologies Bhd, PUC Founder (MSC) Bhd, and Unisem Bhd gaining 19.5 sen to 49.5 sen, 14 sen to 29 sen and 13 sen to RM1.46 respectively.

Amongst the day's top losers were Tenaga Nasional Bhd with a loss of 18 sen to RM6.50, AirAsia Bhd dropping 13 sen to RM3.46, and Genting Plantations Bhd falling 22 sen to RM9.25.

The Nikkei 225 gained 0.07% to 10,018.24, Hong Kong's Hang Seng added 0.06 points to 20,668.86.

Shanghai's A Shares climbed 0.05% to 2,350.60 and Singapore's Straits Times saw a drop of 0.38% to 2,978.68.

Nymex crude oil loss almost half a percent to US$106.36 and spot gold fell 0.19% to US$1,658.59.

The ringgit was quoted at 3.0799 against the dollar and 4.0680 against the euro.
