THEMED “Celebrating BFFs” (Best Friends Forever), Samsung Malaysia Electro-nics threw an exclusive party on Dec 2 to mark the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Limited Edition smartphone.
Two halls in GSC Pavilion were turned totally pink for the launch.
Participants were also treated to airbrush tattoos and a manicure makeover.
Meanwhile, the five most creative fans’ costumes inspired by the Hello Kitty smartphones were rewarded with the eponymous smartphones, to be shared between the winners and their best friends.
Celebrity bloggers Cheeserland and fourteenine, who are best friends in real life, also spoke to Samsung fans about the smartphone, and how it had brought them closer as best friends.
Samsung Malaysia’s mobile phone division head Vincent Chong said the Hello Kitty Limited Edition was designed especially to appeal to female teenagers, to bring friends closer together through the exclusivity of the limited-edition device.
“Naturally best friends share the same interests, they share the same passions and now as they carry the same device, the Hello Kitty edition will bring these BFFs closer than before,” said Chong.
The Galaxy Y Hello Kitty Limited Edition smartphone has been available in Malaysia since Nov 26.
Fans of the long-time Sanrio icon can utilise new features in this limited-edition machine such as a customised Hello Kitty user interface.
To further add to the phone’s exclusivity, the smartphone also features a customised Hello Kitty ringtone and wallpaper.
It was not just an experiential event as those participants holding exclusive passes were also treated to a special 3D screening of the animated feature Rise of the Guardians in GSC Pavilion.
The Hello Kitty smartphones are available through all Samsung mobile brand shops.
