SEPANG: A total of 120 Malaysians left for Gaza, Palestine Wednesday on a solidarity mission as a sign of moral support to the Palestinians affected by the conflict between Israel and the Hamas.

The group comprising politicians, community leaders, athletes and members of non-governmental organisations departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport here.

Aman Palestin Bhd executive chairman Abdullah Zaik Abd Rahman, who sent off the group at the airport, said a RM1.8mil fund would also be distributed to the affected victims.

"This is the largest Malaysian delegation to send emergency aid to our friends over there. This mission aims to show our solidarity and moral support to the victims of the Israeli attacks on Palestine," he told reporters.

Since Aman Palestin was formed in 2004, RM12mil has been sent to Palestine, including RM4mil this year, he said. - Bernama
