Glass panel with image will not be removed today

PETALING JAYA: The glass panel at Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) with what is claimed to be an image of the Virgin Mary will not be removed today.

As such, a SDMC spokesman has appealed to the public intending to witness the removal not to go to the hospital as it would cause “traffic congestion and disruption” to the hospital's services.

“There was an SMS making its rounds claiming that the window will be removed tomorrow (today),” he said.

“There is no such plan as yet,” he added. “It's a hoax.”

It was previously reported that the window panel would be moved to a church in Klang.

Church of St Thomas More parish priest Rev Father Simon Labrooy said the SDMC management had given an assurance that a professional firm would ensure no damage to the panel during the moving process.

The operation would be supervised by the church officials. No word on when the panel would be moved was available at press time.
