Flood warning: Sungai Malim exceeds danger level

KUALA LUMPUR: The Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) has advised people living near Sungai Malim in Klebang Besar, Melaka Tengah, to be on extra alert as the river's water level is above the danger level of 2.11 metres at 9am Wednesday.

In Selangor, water levels of Sungai Langat at Sungai Manggis, Bukit Changgang and Kuala Langat and Sungai Selangor at Kuala Badong are above the warning level, registering 6.00m, 4.27m and 3.95m respectively.

According to the department's portal, the water level of Sungai Lenik in Ladang Chaah, Batu Pahat, Johor recorded 5.44m, above the warning level.

The number of flood victims in Selangor is currently 1,311 people, Johor (143), Perak (39) and Malacca 84. - Bernama
