Prime Minister’s daughter engaged

PUTRAJAYA: Nooryana Najwa, the daughter of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, was engaged to Daniyar Nazarbayev in a ceremony at Seri Perdana here last night.

The ceremony was conducted in the presence of family and friends of the couple and dignitaries from Malaysia and abroad.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin and the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Nur Zahirah, Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah and the Sultanah of Pahang Hajah Kalsom, Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Abdullah and Raja Muda of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah were present.

At the ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, former prime ministers Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdullah Badawi and their wives, Cabinet ministers, deputy ministers and senior federal and state government officials.

Also present was Najib's mother Tun Hajah Rahah Mohamad Noah.

The foreign dignitaries present included the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Zayed al-Nahyan and wife Sheikha Salam Hamdan al-Nahyan, and Medina Council of Saudi Arabia chairman Prince Saud Abdulaziz al-Saud.

Nooryana, 22, graduated from the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, United States, while Daniyar, also 22, completed his studies at Columbia University, New York.
