Salesgirl denies exhibiting porn DVDs

GEORGE TOWN: A 19-year-old salesgirl has been charged in a magistrate’s court here with exhibiting 350 pornographic DVDs for sale at a shopping mall outlet.

Aw Yong Swee Kee claimed trial to exhibiting the DVDs of various titles at a shop on the ground floor of Prangin Mall here at 2pm on March 7.

Magistrate Nooraini Yusof set bail at RM3,000 and fixed March 20 for mention.

In the same court, Tan Heng Khai, 28, claimed trial to exhibiting 157 posters of pornographic shows of various titles (133 Japanese shows and 24 English shows) for sale at a shop on level four of Kompleks Bukit Jambul at 3.30pm on March 8.

Nooraini set bail at RM3,500 and fixed March 30 for mention.

Both offences under Section 292(a) of the Penal Code carry a jail term of up to three years or a fine, or both, upon conviction.
