Berjaya celebrates Founder’s Day with fundraising carnival

BERJAYA Corporation Bhd will celebrate its inaugural Founder’s Day tomorrow at Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur with a fun-filled carnival to raise funds for 28 selected charitable organisations and NGOs.

The Founder’s Day event was initiated to honour the philanthropic efforts of Tan Sri Vincent Tan.

In keeping with Tan’s philosophy of giving back to society, Berjaya’s senior management have decided to dedicate Berjaya Founder’s Day to corporate social responsibility, where the Berjaya group of companies together with their community partners will raise funds for the needy.

There will be a host of activities including stage performances, special appearances by celebrities, exciting games and contests.

There will also be booths set up by 34 NGOs and charitable organisations to raise awareness of their causes.

Vouchers in booklets of RM10 will be sold for the purchase of food, drinks and merchandise at the carnival stalls, to participate in the carnival games.

The vouchers can also be used as entrance fee to the Berjaya Times Square Theme Park as well as to take part in the carnival’s Raffle Draw which offers a Mazda 2 worth RM85,000 as the grand prize and other prizes including holiday packages, sponsored by the Berjaya Corporation group of companies.

The carnival will be held from 10am to 7pm.

All proceeds from the carnival will be channeled to the following beneficiaries — Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia, Cleft Lip And Palate Association Of Malaysia, Dignity for Children Foundation, Grace Community Services,       Kasih Foundation, Malaysian Association for The Blind, MERCY Malaysia, Montfort Youth Training Centre, Sabah, Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital, National Autism Society of Malaysia, National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia, National Stroke Association of Malaysia, PAWS Animal Welfare Society Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Pesakit HIV/AIDS Nurul Iman Malaysia, Persatuan Kebajikan HOPE Worldwide Kuala Lumpur, PS the Children, PT Foundation, Pusat Harian Kanak-Kanak Spastik Ipoh, Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, Rumah Titian Kaseh, Sea Turtle Research Unit (SEATRU), Redang, St. Nicholas’ Home Penang,
