Tin price closes unchanged

KUALA LUMPUR: Tin price on the Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) remained unchanged at US$22,000 a tonne despite the metal price sliding by US$5 on the London Metal Exchange (LME) overnight.

"There is not much selling pressure from the sellers," a dealer said.

On the local front, turnover rose to 55 tonnes from 40 tonnes on Friday, with the participation of Japanese, European and local buyers.

At the opening level, initial bids and offers stood at 55 tonnes and 60 tonnes, respectively.

The premium between the KLTM and LME widened to US$340 compared with US$335 a tonne last week. - BERNAMA
