Special prayers at Brickfields temple

Paal Kudam procession

In conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration on Thursday, The Sri Sakthi Karpaga Vinayagar Temple in Brickfields will be organising a Paal Kudam Procession to the Sri Kandasamy Temple in Jalan Scott, Brickfields. Held for the fifth year, the walk will begin at 5am. The main purpose of the event is to help senior citizens, the disabled and children to fulfil their vows to Lord Muruga without going to Batu Caves. There will be special Thaipusam prayers conducted at the Sri Kandasamy Temple. Devotees are advised to wear yellow clothes, bring their own milk and kudam. No kavadis are allowed. Free food and drinks

The Agasthiar Samajam group will be distributing free vegetarian meals from 7am tomorrow to 7pm on Thursday for devotees during the Thaipusam festival. About 100,000 meals like rice, tomato rice, meal maker and 200,000 drinks will be distributed free. Donations are welcomed. For details, call 03-6187 6773.

Thaipusam concert

THE Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan Indian Newspaper Vendors Association (Swinva) is organising an Indian cultural concert at Batu Caves in conjunction with Thaipusam. The association is also distributing free food and drinks from tomorrow to Saturday. For details call 03-2274 6698.
