Everton sign Silva from Portuguese club

LIVERPOOL: Everton has signed striker Joao Silva from second division Portuguese club Desportivo Das Aves on a three-year deal.

The Premier League club did not disclose the transfer fee on Wednesday for the 20-year-old forward, who has played for Portugal at youth level.

Everton says its officials flew to Portugal this week to seal the deal. — AP
