Zafrul appointed new CEO of Maybank IB (update)

KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank has appointed Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz as the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (Maybank IB).

In a statement today, Maybank said the appointment, is effective June 16.

Maybank President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar said subsequently, Tengku Zafrul will assume the position of CEO of Maybank IB, subject to the approval of Bank Negara, the Securities Commission (SC) and other relevant authorities.

Tengku Zafrul is currently the Group Director of K&N Kenanga Holdings Berhad and a board member of Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad, Kenanga Capital Sdn Bhd and Capital Investment Bank (Labuan) Limited.

He has served in senior positions previously at companies such as Credit Agricole, Tune Money Sdn Bhd, Citigroup Malaysia, ECM Avenue Berhad and Avenue Securities over the last 14 years. - BERNAMA
