BSN to launch new product

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Simpanan Nasional aims to attract RM250mil worth of investment from its latest product, BSN Ahsan Warga Emas, 10 months after its launch on Sunday, says senior vice president/head Islamic banking department Azaddin Ngah Tasir.

“With the product specially catered to senior citizens, we expect to collect about RM25mil a month,” he told reporters yesterday.

”The duration period for this investment is 12 to 60 months where we are offering competitive profit sharing at indicative profit rates of 2.7% to 3%. For those who invest between RM5,000 and RM50,000, the profit-sharing ratio will be 35% to the investor and 65% to the bank,” he said.

For investments exceeding RM50,000, the profit-sharing ratio will be 40% and 60% respectively.

“The first 2,000 customers who invest RM10,000 and above will get a ‘blood pressure monitor’ as a gift from us,” he said.
