It is believed that the attackers targeted the church window but failed to hit it with the molotov cocktail and hit the wall instead.

Police found two broken glass bottles, believed to have been filled with petrol, by the scarred wall near the car park area. The church is located about 1.5km from the Assumption Church in Jalan Templer that was attacked at 4am on Friday.

Parish priest Rev Augustin Muthusamy, 43, said he discovered the scorch marks around 2pm when he arrived there for a meeting.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Arjunaidi Mohamed urged witnesses to assist police in the investigations.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein quashed claims that Umno and the Government were involved in the church attacks, dismissing the allegations as baseless.

In Rawang, a pastor was shocked when he discovered various equipment including guitars and air conditioning units had been stolen from The Dwelling Place church.

When contacted, Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the incident, adding that police were investigating the case for breaking-in and theft.
